Blue on Blue on Blue

She comes to me with slinky smiles

She’s a shocking, scarlet woman

And I stand still like a well-trained dog

Waiting for her summons

I acquiesce to her every wish

I trust she’ll see me through it

But when she leaves I feel so bad

I always feel I blew it

And it’s Blue on Blue on Blue….

She looks at me with laser eyes

That cut through my pretensions

Her presence over powers my will

Demanding rapt attention

And when she goes my minds a flood

Of imageless confusion

Which leaves me drained and wondering

If it was all illusion

And it’s Blue on Blue on Blue…..

I used to be a strong man

She found me at my peak

She utterly dissolves me

And leaves me feeling weak

Time spits at me and so does she

It’s a wonder I can stand it

And though I’ve tried I must admit

I still don’t understand it

She comes to me and struts her stuff

Abusing my devotion

And when she leaves I’m caught between

The blues of sky and ocean

And it’s Blue on Blue on Blue…
